What Rush said in his essay wasn't a right-wing opinion. Everyone knows that most of the news and sports media are liberals. Even thoose liberal commentators are saying that this smacks of Tokenism.

You may not like Rush but he'll draw ratings and get people talking and that is all ESPN wants.

You are correct I don't like him. I,m not excited about Micheal Irvin either, thankfully Fox will be on soon.
